Karen is a globally acclaimed researcher in media science, is a regular speaker on the major circuits and has secured research funding from some of the world’s largest advertisers. Her first book, Viral Marketing: the science of sharing, set the record straight on hunting for ‘viral success’. Her most recent book The Attention Economy and How Media Works explains the stark reality of human attention processing in advertising. Her work has been noted in The New York Times, Bloomberg Business, CNBC, Forbes, Wall Street National, Huffington Post, Contagious and The Drum, and she has been a regular media writer for the Australian Financial Review. Matthias Dang, born in 1967 in Mainz, has been Managing Director of Marketing, Technology and Data at Mediengruppe RTL Deutschland since February 2019. From September 2012, he was Managing Director of Vermarkter IP Deutschland and, from January 2017, Ad Alliance. The graduate in business administration came to IP Deutschland in 1993 and held various functions in marketing until 1998. In 1998 he was appointed sales director. In 2003 he switched back to marketing as a manager. From 2004 to 2009 he was the sales manager, and in October 2009 he also became deputy managing director.

Sebastian Busse heads the team for the development of Europe’s largest Addressable TV partner network at Smartclip. The Smartclip Addressable TV Platform, explicitly built for the TV industry, brings digital advertising and analytic solutions to linear TV and unlocks new potential for broadcasters and advertisers.
Previously, Sebastian built up the largest publisher network on Connected TV at Smartclip. He implemented the integration of Philips Net TV, the first real Connected TV approach of a large CE-manufacturer, for monetization purposes. After that, he was responsible for the launch of CTV portals for Loewe, Vestel and Astra HD+.
Prior to Smartclip, he worked in sales at IMG Media. Sebastian has a Business Administration and Management degree from BA Heidenheim and a masters in Sport Management from the Griffith University.

Lisha Li is the founder and CEO of Rosebud AI. Rosebud creates images and videos programmatically that look indistinguishable from real ones. She was previously a principal at Amplify Partners leading investments in early stage start-ups and worked in data science at Pinterest and Stitch Fix. Lisha holds a PhD in Machine Learning from UC Berkeley. In 2019, she was one of the three winners of L’Oréal USA’s Women in Digital NEXT Generation Awards.

Karin Immenroth, born in Munich in 1980, studied Communication, Analytics, Insight, Econometrics, and Data Analysis at Ludwig-Maximilians Universität in Munich. She started her career in Munich in 2006, first at the Mediaplus Group and then at Burda Forward Advertising. From 2011 to 2017 she held various positions within the Analytics & Insights department at the media agency MEC, most recently as Chief Analytics Officer. In 2018 she was responsible for the Analytics & Insights department at Wavemaker, working subsequently as Chief Analytics Officer and managing director of Science GmbH, the central market and media research organization of GroupM Deutschland.
Since October 2019 she has been Chief of Data & Analytics at the Mediengruppe RTL Deutschland, where she is responsible for data strategy, analysis, and science as well as viewer, market, and media research for the entire Mediengruppe RTL. In addition, she and her team are a competence centre for data and research for the cross-media marketer Ad Alliance.

Benjamin Jankowski is group head of global media at Mastrcard. In this role, he is responsible for managing the MasterCard investment in marketing communications. This includes working with our global, regional, and local marketing teams, as well as agency partners, to drive engagement and preference among MasterCard’s core constituents.
Having worked for many agency networks such as Omnicom, WPP, and Havas, Jankowski has vast experience with helping drive business success of some of the world’s leading marketers, such as Chase, Citibank, Dell, GE, Johnson & Johnson, Nestlé, PepsiCo, Procter & Gamble, and Xerox.
Jankowski holds a B.A. in Communications from Temple University in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. He has also taught periodically on advertising topics at Temple.
Daniel Bischoff

As Chief Marketing Operations Officer of RTL AdConnect, Daniel Bischoff oversees all relevant marketing functions, including strategy development, pan-European digital and TV planning & buying, cross country total video research, development of scalable inventory products, as well as identification of new business and all sales support. Prior to joining RTL AdConnect in 2016, Daniel was head of strategic Marketing at IP Deutschland after joining from a 4,5 year stay at MediaCom Germany where he held various positions, including Managing Partner. Daniel Bischoff is 38 years old, married with three children. He studied Theater, Film and Media Sciences as well as Philosophy in Frankfurt, Brussels and Berlin.

Stéphane Coruble has been Managing Director of RTL AdConnect since 2016. Previously he has been TV and New Business Director at RTL Belgium from to 2012 to 2016. From May 2009 to October 2012, he was New Business Operations Director. Prior to this he worked for IP Belgium and RTL Belgium in several marketing and sales positions.

Stéphane Gendarme has been the Head of Information at M6 since 2015. Prior to his promotion, he has held several different roles within Groupe M6 over the past 15 years, including Editor-in-Chief after starting out as a journalist. In recent years, he has turned his attention to combatting fake news to keep M6’s news stories trustworthy.
He also studied information at the Institut français de presse.

He is also a teacher at ENSCI in Paris and an honorary professor at the ECA de l’Universidade do São Paulo. Prior to working for ITV, Chris was Commercial Director at Absolute Radio between 2003 and 2011, Ad Director at e-space and Group Ad Manager for BBC Good Food. Chris started his career in Display advertising for the Financial Times.

Jörg Graf has been the Managing Director of RTL Television since 2019. After Jörg’s appointment, RTL Television has received a lot of critical acclaim for its content, including 7 awards at the 2020 German Television Awards. Prior to his promotion, he was Chief Operating Officer of Programme Affairs where he was responsible for international third-party programming and for the pay-channel Nitro.

Paul Wood has been Head of Global Research and Insight at Fremantle since 2015. Prior to his promotion, he has worked as a Research Assistant and Viewer Panel Manager at the same company. Lucien Brouwer has been the Chief Consumer Officer at RTL Nederland since 2018. This means that he has overseen the development of Videoland, where customer experience is prioritised. Prior to joining RTL Nederland, Lucien was Director of Entertainment Platforms at Liberty Global, Director of Video Products at Ziggo, having started as the Director of Product Management, and filled various management roles at KPN.
Lucien also has a degree in Business Economics from the Erasmus University Rotterdam.

Pete is an experienced consultant, who has been working in kids media for over a decade. Peter has specialised in new technology, kids entertainment, ethical marketing to kids and education (and where possible screwing all those things together).
Peter’s day to day role includes listening to and observing how young people and families engage with traditional and digital media to advise product owners and developers, creatives and distributors support some of the world leading brands.
In his latest role, at KidsKnowBest, Peter is developing products that give young people a forum to influence the world they live in and the media they engage with.
Nicole Greenfield-Smith

Nicole is Head of Research at Thinkbox, the marketing body for commercial TV in the UK. She has commissioned, managed and delivered virtually every one of their research projects – many award-winning – since she joined the company back in 2006. Nicole began her career in media after completing her Masters in Research Consultancy. She has worked for several organisations including Billets, Flextech TV, The BBC and Accenture before landing the role at Thinkbox and finding her spiritual home.
Outside of Thinkbox, Nicole is a self-confessed TV addict. When she’s not watching the box or downloading her favourite shows (for research purposes, obviously) she loves embarrassing her kids and catching-up on the F1.

Thomas Rabe holds a diploma and a doctorate in economics from the University of Cologne, Germany. He started his career in 1989 at the European Commission in Brussels. From 1990 to 1996 he held various senior positions at Forrester Norall & Sutton (now White & Case) in Brussels, the state privatisation agency Treuhandanstalt and a venture capital fund in Berlin. In 1996, he joined Cedel International (Clearstream, following the merger with Deutsche Börse Clearing) where he was appointed Chief Financial Officer and member of the Management Board in 1998. In 2000, Thomas Rabe became Chief Financial Officer and member of the Executive Committee of RTL Group. In March 2003 he was also appointed Head of Corporate Centre with responsibility for the Luxembourgish activities of RTL Group. With effect from 1 January 2006, Thomas Rabe was appointed to the Executive Board of Bertelsmann AG as the Group’s Chief Financial Officer. From 2006 to 2008, he was also responsible for Bertelsmann AG’s music business. Since 1 January 2012, Thomas Rabe has been CEO and Chairman of the Executive Board of Bertelsmann AG, now Bertelsmann Management SE. On 1 April 2019, RTL Group Board of Directors appointed Thomas Rabe as CEO.

Simon Cook has been Managing Director of Cannes Lions since 2019. Simon has worked in the branded communications industry and Cannes Lions for over a decade. He worked agency-side before joining the business. Simon’s work has been critical to the success of Cannes Lions. He was the architect behind ‘The Tracks’ – the organising framework that helps the creative community navigate the awards and learning experiences across the Cannes Lions platform.
During his tenure with Lions he has also overseen the creation and introduction of more than half of the Lions awards.
